Climate Emergency

The Forest of Bowland National Landscape Partnership develops activities and projects to help tackle the climate emergency, over the last decade, the National Landscape has focused on establishing climate change resilience for the most vulnerable habitats. This activity was informed by our National Landscape Climate Change Adaptation Plan, published in 2011.


More recently - in 2026 - we have published a new Climate Adaptation Plan

Natural Capital

As part of a wider Natural Capital Approach, mapping ecosystem services assists decision-making with a common framework for evidence and analysis. By mapping ecosystem services the National Landscape Partnership can begin to see synergies where areas of work deliver on multiple objectives. Simply put, it helps us all to know what to value and where to target investments in the future.
