The Forest of Bowland AONB is a landscape of rolling heather moors, forest, and deep, dramatic valleys; some of the grandest and wildest countryside in Northern England. It is noted for its wildlife, including several protected bird species. With so many beautiful villages with welcoming inns and cafes, this is a perfect place to spend a Summer’s Sunday walking, browsing or sightseeing. There are number of self guided walks that link to the Sunday and weekday bus services, including riverside rambles, moorland walks and forest trails for walkers of all abilities.
