In the Forest of Bowland we are trying to enable access to the countryside for everyone; especially people with disabilities, people who are less mobile and people with pushchairs. All the family can now experience the unspoiled beauty of the area along trails with fantastic views, wildlife rich hedgerows and through tranquil woodlands and parklands.
Several trails have been developed across the Forest of Bowland which are easily accessible for people with walking difficulties and pushchairs as the routes do not include stiles or very steep gradients.
Trampers - the Tramper is a specially designed four-wheel drive all-terrain electric buggy, which can be used off road and even on rough ground, mud and grass. It enables people who have difficulty walking, who are less able or who may be disabled to experience the countryside, woodlands and lakesides; and to accompany friends and family when out walking.
Please click on a tramper symbol on the map or make a selection from the list below for the starting point and for details of the tramper trail.
