The Tramper is a specially designed four-wheel drive all-terrain electric buggy, which can be used off road and even on rough ground, mud and grass. It enables people who have difficulty walking to experience the countryside, woodlands and lakesides; and to accompany friends and family when out walking.
Please ensure you are accompanied when using the Tramper, as some sections of the route include gates, and are remote. You should also take warm and waterproof clothing as the weather can change very quickly. Please also note that some of the trails include sections of public highway.
The Wyresdale Wheels Tramper is available to use, free of charge, at any of the establishments listed below. You may hire it for a few hours or days, subject to availability. When you arrive to use the Tramper you will be given a brief lesson in how to use the vehicle, before you can take it out for a drive. Please phone The Priory Hotel on 01524 791255 to make your booking.
For further details of the Wyresdale Wheels for All Project please refer to the following leaflet, Wyresdale Wheels for All leaflet (PDF, 2.48mb Please note that this file may take sometime to download). The Tramper trails shown on the map in the linked pdf can be easily used by people with walking difficulties and pushchairs as the routes do not include stiles or very steep gradients.
