Gisburn Forest offers fantastic mountain biking with beautiful views. Glide easily along a mellow trail by Bottoms Beck, twist and shout through Park Wood, dance with your bike down Hully Gully or grit your teeth and rush down the Bigfoot slab - something for everyone!

Mountain Bike Rider readers have just voted Gisburn Forest as their favourite trail of 2011, taking around 20% of the total votes.

Gisburn is a dynamic forest created and managed by the Forestry Commission. For more information visit www.forestry.gov.uk/northwestengland

Gisburn Forest Trail Builder volunteers have been meeting for about two years now and have hand built over 2km of 'sweet single-track', so very well done to them and for many this section is a particular favourite. There are also many routes within the forest that are not single track that are also suitable for walkers and horse riders. Whether you cycle, walk or ride, you are bound to be impressed by the peace and tranquillity of the forest and its changing seasons and variety of wildlife.
